Took a whole day off yesterday – Friend Barbara and I went to the show at Manchester Event City, braving the icy weather. We must have walked around at least four times seeing something new each time. We both had shopping/wish lists and got nearly everything on them. Barbara missed out on some beads while I couldn’t find size 8 mm knitting needles on any stand!!!
But it was a great day – bought loads of fabric (for me to make waistcoats), beads (for Barbara to make jewellery), made some great new contacts for possible collaboration in the future (me), saw some friends (Kathryn Halfpenney of Halfpenney’s Beads) and Scottish Anne – and had a fun natter with Jennie Rayment. What a lovely lady she is. And of course, wearing one of her fantastic waistcoats (#greenwith….). Of course I bought her latest book which just happened to have a design I’ve been looking for to try out – Law of Attraction anyone?
Next day out is more of a business one with a visit to ICHF Stitches at the NEC in a couple of weeks. Hubbie Mac is coming to that one and will no doubt spend most of his time sampling all the coffee stands! I shall be looking at fabrics and talking to a couple of people – meeting those I already buy from and hopefully people I will be buying from. Who knows.
