Hands up those of you that have problems with threading a beading needle – especially with thicker threads like Fireline.  Nymo’s bad enough but Fireline …..!

Well, here’s something I learned a while ago and want to pass onto you.

Wet the end of your thread – even Fireline etc.  Then press between thumb and forefinger to flatten it.  Or instead of just pressing with thumb and finger, run your thumbnail down it to press it flat.

Turn it sideways so that the thread outline is vertical.

Swivel your needle so that they eye is facing you.

Aim the thread towards the eye – they should both be roughly the same shape and the thread should pass through quite easily.
